Lembah Anai Waterfall is an approximately 35-metre cascade in Nagari Singgalang, Tanah Datar Regency, directly beside the main Padang–Bukittinggi road at the foot of Mount Singgalang. The waterfall lies on the western edge of the Lembah Anai Nature Reserve, surrounded by dense forest.
Because of its position on the main highland corridor, Lembah Anai can fit into a Padang–Bukittinggi journey without requiring a separate excursion.
Is Lembah Anai worth stopping for?
Lembah Anai makes the most sense when you are already traveling between Padang and Bukittinggi.

The surrounding forest is an important part of the setting. Lembah Anai Waterfall lies along the western boundary of the Lembah Anai Nature Reserve, with dense vegetation rising around the cascade.
Heavy rain can increase the waterfall’s flow significantly, and official tourism information notes that water can overflow toward the road. Check current weather and access before relying on the stop.
What should you know about current access?
The Lembah Anai road corridor was damaged by flooding and landslides in November 2025.
After the disaster, the national-road corridor returned to functional use and underwent permanent repairs. Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works announced completion of those works in July 2026.
The repaired road does not guarantee that stopping at the waterfall will be practical on every travel day. Calvoya therefore continues to treat Lembah Anai as a flexible stop, depending on access, traffic, weather, and timing.
